Gregory Canillas, Ph.D. currently serves as President & CEO of Soul2Soul LLC, a company that provides couple and parenting retreats. He is an Associate Professor at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (Los Angeles). Dr. Canillas' clinical work and research have focused on couples/dating, children/adolescents, families, ethnic minority mental health, and LGBTQ clients. Dr. Canillas serves on the American Psychological Association's Joint Task Force for Revising the Guidelines for Psychological Practice with Lesbian, Gay & Bisexual Clients. He also currently serves as adjunct faculty in the graduate psychology programs of Pepperdine and National Universities. He previously served as Program Director at a mental health agency, where he oversaw the child and adult therapy programs, the CalWORKs mental health and the CalWORKs Homeless Families Project. Dr. Canillas also served a Clinical Psychologist with two child/family mental health programs directly operated by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.Dr. Canillas has previously served on the faculties of Loyola Marymount University, Antioch University-Los Angeles, Los Angeles Southwest College and the University of California, Santa Cruz.He has previously served as the Co-Chair of the Commission for Youth and Families in Long Beach, California, where he was charged with developing services for families and advising the mayor and city council on services for these populations. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, Association of Black Psychologists and Asian American Psychological Association.
