Sophia Center is a non-profit mental health provider and sponsored ministry of the Sylvania Sisters of St. Francis. We recognize that each familial situation is different. We provide many ways for families to access support or learn new strategies. Program opportunities range from education and awareness to wrap around individualized support. Some of the programs are as follows: Positive Solutions for families is a parent workshop that helps parents of young children understand problem behaviors and learn positive approaches to help build relationships and teach and support appropriate behavior. Step-Up is featured as a multi-family group evidence based program that address responding to abuse and promoting safety, restoring respectful relationships in the family, setting boundaries and regaining parental leadership. Step-Up can also be facilitated with Individual families. Parent Cafe's are community gatherings where parents enjoy round table conversations focused around parenting concerns, joys, and questions related to raising children. A fun judgement-free evening with food and childcare creates an open forum for parents to connect. Trauma Informed Parenting: This program is made possible through grant funding from Common Spirit Health. With this grant we have undertaken a project to provide programs that help Build and Restore Respectful Family Relationships.
