Shalom Farms is a nonprofit working for a more just and equitable food system in Richmond, Virginia. Through urban and rural agriculture, nutrition education, and a citywide Mobile Market, Shalom Farms grows and distributes over 450,000 servings of Certified Naturally Grown produce every year, increases access to healthy food, and builds partnerships rooted in community health, equity, and sustainability. Our guiding principles balance individual and systems-based approaches to addressing food access disparities: we believe in working alongside individuals to navigate existing barriers to healthy eating, forming strong community relationships, and building a food system in which those barriers no longer exist.
