Savannah Jr. Derbytaunts

Savannah Jr. DerbyTaunts Mission Statement Savannah Jr. DerbyTaunts (SJDT) is a junior competitive sports organization. We strive to improve individual athleticism, self-discipline and character while promoting team unity; to develop athletes of attitude and athleticism with passion to play a hard-hitting sport of speed and skill. Our program provides structured training, instruction, and competition, preparing our members to represent Savannah at a national level.  The purpose of the SJDT is to introduce the sport of roller derby to young athletes and to help build confidence through participation in a competitive sport. The SJDT seeks to maintain a welcoming environment toward athletes of all races, genders, nationalities, religions, sexual orientations, and body types and to create healthy examples for their peers. It is our goal to empower them and instill a sense of comradery within the league, and to allow that positive energy to reach out into the community through events, activities, and charity sponsorship, while providing entertainment for our fans. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, formed in 2012.
