The Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre Inc. (Food Centre) is a non-profit organization and leader in providing expertise and resources to assist agri-businesses in capturing value-added opportunities in the food industry.The Food Centre is recognized provincially, nationally and globally for its role in helping small and medium-sized enterprises grow to become industry leaders.Incorporated in 1997, the Food Centre today has grown to fill two locations in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, with staff expertise touching on every step of the processing chain, including ingredients, food development, extrusion, food safety, and incubation manufacturing.The Food Centre's depth of expertise has been particularly important to the growth of Canada’s plant-based food and ingredients sector. The Food Centre is recognized globally as a leader in converting plant-based protein through new product development, ingredient validation and extrusion technology. Our twin screw extrusion technology is capable of transforming a wide variety of agricultural crops into innovate consumer food products such as snack foods, breakfast cereal, pet foods, meat analogues and bio-products.
