Follow Sam Garrett Sporting ClaysSam Garrett passed away at age 22 after a 6 year battle with cancer, Sam is a Clarksville native who had an avid passion for sports shooting. Sam was an accomplished shooter participating in Junior Olympics and recognized as the “Top Gun” for the highest average scorer on his high school shooting team at Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville. He won the Alabama and South Carolina Junior Sporting Clay Championship as well as the Junior World Championship. Sam was recognized by his team at MBA with the Francis E Carter Jr Award for Service and Achievement and lead his team as Captain. After graduating from MBA he continued his service to the team by lending his skills as a coach to the young shooters. This is a few of Sam’s accomplishments but most of all he is remembered by all who knew him for his love of the sport and his determination to help youth interested in the sport.To honor the memory and legacy of Sam, his family and friends have organized a non-profit 501(c)(3) with the goal of raising funds to support youth shooters with scholarships, encouraging and supporting their passion for shooting.
