Roxanne T. Reid

Is a local playwright, director and producer.  She graduated Suma Cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management in May of 2000 from the University of Maryland. In 2001, she started Southern Gal Productions. SG specializes in theater and show productions.  She has written, directed and produced six plays, “Sins of the Father” 2012 and 2013, “The Preacher Man” 2012, “The Do Drop In” 2014, “Silent Screams”2016 and 2018, “Getting My Piece of The Pie”  2017; “Grandma’s Hands” June of 2019 and currently “Blu Comes Home” which will debut May 2, 2020.  She also directed and produced August Wilsons “The Piano Lesson” in 2015.    She is the director of the drama ministry at her church, New Song Bible Fellowship Church in Lanham, Maryland. She has directed four plays and several skits since taking over the ministry in 2016. She has worked with children and adults, directing past and current performances for the church and at the Public Playhouse for the performing Arts in Cheverly, Maryland.
