About Roots of Wellness

Here at Roots, we feel that taking care of yourself is a journey of discovery and self-commitment. We also know that we all love to eat, and the types of food we eat underpin how we feel on every level. Food and lifestyle affect our physical, emotional and sometimes our spiritual wellbeing. We also understand that using different modalities is powerful for the healing of our bodies, yet it appears to be in human nature difficult for people to be consistent when taking care of themselves. This is influenced by many factors, three of which may be long-held beliefs, lack of confidence, and not knowing where the solutions are.Roots of Wellness cooking retreats and training days all have a holistic application. While we focus on teaching about plant-based cooking, lacto-fermentation, dehydration, and raw recipes, we also bring in other practices. Such as breathwork, creative workshops, sound healing or taking time out in nature.At “Roots”, we encourage people to think healthy and think dessert, proving that this combination really can go hand in hand. Desserts are Steve's speciality, and as an engineer, he brings the same mindset into his dessert-making as he does his work. He takes a concept, refines it, and makes it his own to create results that are delicious. Of course, all of our courses go far beyond desserts.Wellness is about nurturing the whole self through many different practices. With our training in different modalities, we are a collaborative space, working together with other holistic healthcare practitioners to inspire lasting wellbeing.
