Joe D'Urso, the leader of the roots rock band Joe D'Urso & Stone Caravan for the last 27 years, created the Rockland-Bergen Music Festival in 2014 to celebrate his 50th birthday with some of nations, regions and local area's best songwriters. From the beginning, the RBMF included many area charities and has grown to 15 organizations each day on site. D'Urso is on the board of directors for the Light of Day Foundation which raises funds and awareness for Parkinson's disease and other nuerological disorders. He also sits on the board of directors for WhyHunger, an organization that has been fighting poverty, hunger and it's roots causes since 1975. D'Urso dreamed of having a music festival in the hometown that he grew up in and this year marks the 6th year in a row that some of Americana's and Roots Rock's best songwriters will come to this quiet historic hamlet.
