Practical Intelligence is a not-for-profit company based in the Nailsworth Subscription Rooms, in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire. Our mission is to promote confidence and self-belief whilst developing practical skills.We're open to the whole community, and provide free social programs, to anyone who's struggling and looking for meaningful activity. We also offer affordable craft courses. The groups are small and are taught by skilled, professional craftsmen in a relaxed and informal atmosphere.Pi Guitars, our flagship project, builds guitars from recycled wood with a team of volunteers. The finished guitars are sponsored and donated to youth groups or groups for those struggling with their mental health. Our other programmes include a Men's Shed, where men and women of all ages and abilities are welcome to come and make things for themselves.We also run weekly courses in wood and silver for home educated students; guitar making courses; and weekend workshops making English longbows, knives, stained-glass and automata.When not is use, our workshop space and machines are available for the community to come and make use of.
