Pleasley Pit Trust is a charity which works to preserve and protect the Pleasley coal mine, its artifacts, and stories of the mining community. The Trust helps in the conservation of the natural habitats and wildlife that now call this place home.The building, chimney and car parks are held by The Land Trust and both the building and chimney hold Scheduled Ancient Monument status with Historic England. The inside of the engine house building and its working winding wheel together with many other mining treasures have been lovingly restored over many years and are now cared for and protected by Pleasley Pit Trust.The Heritage Centre, Visitor Centre, Café and Wildlife Group are managed mostly by a dedicated team of volunteers and the Trust is a not-for-profit organisation.
