Follow Placerville Kiwanis ClubSince our club was charterd in April 1956, the Placerville Kiwanis Club has been an active part of the local community. We are a growing club with over 50 members, we suport three high school Key Clubs (Ponderosa, Union Mine and El Dorado High Schools), the Markham Middle School Builders Club and the AKTION Club of El Dorado County for people living with a disability. Our members volunteer over 3000 hours each year to Projects in the community. We raise money in the community through our annual Studebaker Wheelbarrow Race. Proceeds from this fund raiser goes to support our Scholarship Program at the three local high schools as well as a variety of important community nonprofit organizations. Our activities include the Academic Decathlon, the Easter Egg Hunt, the City of Placerville Fishing Derby, and many more. A regional project that we support is the Kiwanis Family House which provides lodging for families with a family member being treated at UC Davis Medical Center.
