About Peach Hill Park

The Peach Hill Park and Conservation Area is a 159 acre passive use, open space landscape. Opened in 2006, this magnificent spot is an extensive old orchard ringed by woods on several sides. Deer and wild turkey inhabit the park along with such rare song birds as the Indigo Bunting and Cuckoo. As the highest point in the Town of Poughkeepsie, Peach Hill offers panoramic views of the Hudson Valley including the Hudson Highlands and the Catskill and Shawangunk Mountains. The Peach Hill orchard was operated in the 1950s and 1960s by fruit grower, Charles Beck. Crops on this land historically included peaches and pears as well as apples. In 1967, the orchard was purchased by William Paladino and turned exclusively into apple production.
