Born from more than a decade of shared faith and friendship, Oh Sparrow is the musical worship collaboration of songwriters Chris Weldon, Alex Fleeman and Corey Fleeman.Their songs center faith and doubt, hope and heartbreak, and the ground in between.The trio’s cowriting began while leading worship together in Los Angeles and continued even after everyone moved – Chris Weldon now directs worship at Redeemer West Side in NYC and Corey and Alex Fleeman at Atlanta Westside Presbyterian Church.Oh Sparrow writes for their local church congregations and for anyone who might find their own faith story, struggle or hope reflected in these songs. Their music is characterized by honest, scripture-based songwriting; bright vocal harmonies; and rich, inventive instrumentation.The Bible speaks of sparrows surprisingly often. Almost always it is to offer comfort to God’s lost and lonely children, and to remind them of his care and provision. Jesus tells his disciples in Luke 12, “Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten in God’s sight.” If God takes careful notice of each small sparrow, how much more so every precious person he creates and sustains?
