Since the Charity began in 1999, our crews have responded to over 45,000 missions across the North West. Our crews are called out on average seven times a day, with each mission costing on average £4,500. Last year we responded to over 3,100 emergencies, providing world-class, lifesaving care to people across the North West in the air and on the ground.Donations funds the Charity's three helicopters and four critical care vehicles which operate 365 days a year. Our combined crew of highly skilled consultant doctors and critical care paramedics can provide enhanced pre-hospital care at the scene. This means our crews can carry out procedures which otherwise would only be carried out in a hospital environment, ultimately bringing the hospital to the patient.
