About Naytarsha Berry & Berry Good Entertainment

NayTarsha aka Nay or Nay Renee, the proud owner & CEO of Berry Good Entertainment, started acting & performing at the age of three, her road to success as an actress spans across several cities, beginning in Massachusetts & stretching to Michigan. In Detroit her talent at an early age was discovered by Mr. Jim White (Stars of Tomorrow Talent Search) which she won several years in a row, he noticed her abilities & casted her & her step-father as the comedic ventriloquist act Willie Tyler & Lester for his “Motown Review” at the Fox Theatre. Now possessing a bachelor’s degree, a stronger acting, resume & more drive than ever, NayTarsha is prepared for a promising career in acting, writing & directing. The first play she ever wrote was a gospel stage play entitled “In My Father’s Footsteps” which she wrote in collaboration with her brother Geno (the poet) Smith.   After the success of “In My Father’s Footsteps” she began performing one play after another after another, eventually l&ing a leading role in a Vanessa Lynn stage Play entitled Soul Custody. She went on to perform in other Vanessa Lynn productions, such as; Murder at Felicia & Kenny’s Wedding & recently Murder at The Carver High 1997 Class Reunion. She co-starred & directed the two-woman stage-play entitled “In the Continuum” a stage playby Danai Gurira & Nikkole Salter. She performed the production withHeather Kyles(local actress & comedienne), at The Artist Village Theatre in Detroit in which she played 5 different character. She recently joined the Detroit Lighthouse Community Theatre’s phenomenal team for the fabulous award winning film turned stage play “Lillie’s of the Field”, where she was hired on as the director & co-star. NayTarsha has performed in & directed several stage-plays but in 2014 Naytarsha transitioned into internet radio when she connectedwith SVmixMedia (Ramon (Mr. NizGuy) Burnham) there she transformed into Nay Renee & hosted her own radio show, The Nay Renee Show, which aired on Wednesday nights on SVmixRadio.  She thoroughly enjoyed being live on the airwaves, but she dearly missed the theater so in 2015 she came together with SVmixMedia, Playin’ Around Theatre Co. & 12th Street Entertainment, for a collaboration rightfully called “Theatre Junkies” & in March of that same year Theatre Junkies launched their theatre season with the critically acclaimed stage play “Ham Judah” after the success of the Theater Junkies first play, she continued to work behind the scenes with young children teaching them the fundamentals of theater at her new school Shining Stars where she works closely with her partner Demetria Metcalf. This duo works with fellow churches & their congregation member’s young & old who are eager to learn theater throughout the Metro Detroit Area, & as a team they work to bring theatrical Christian stage plays to churches & to help launch theater ministries. These are only a few of the many performances & accomplishments that she has under her belt. With all that she has accomplished so far she feels that she still has not done enough & through her company (Berry Good Entertainment), NayTarsha’s goal is to bring the best actors/actresses Metro Detroit has to offer to the Performing Arts Industry with phenomenal stage performances. She plans to reach her goal by using her ability to teach acting fundamentals with workshops, private lessons & her directing ability. She is also very dedicated to the empowerment & development of youth especially the young women of her church community & throughout the Detroit Metropolitan Area.NayTarsha recently has written a story highlighting the life & times of Jackie “Moms” Mabley, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone & Pat Rainey in a stage play called “Gotta Love You Till I Die”, which will be held at The International Institute in Detroit, MI.
