Follow National Centre for Antimicrobial StewardshipThe National Centre for Antimicrobial Stewardship (NCAS) is a group of healthcare professionals committed to promoting the rational use of antimicrobial drugs throughout Australia. NCAS was established in 2015 as a Centre of Research Excellence funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia. NCAS seeks to optimise antimicrobial use in human and animal health using a One Health approach. Our group is committed to building research and clinical capacity for implementing safe and sustainable solutions to the emerging crisis of drug-resistant infections. We are situated at thePeter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity(University of Melbourne and Royal Melbourne Hospital) in Melbourne. The group is made up of infectious diseases specialists, clinical microbiologists, general practitioners, pharmacists, nurses, infection control specialists, veterinarians, epidemiologists and bioethicists.
