Narture is an artist collective nurturing the arts, respecting nature. We make real sourdough bread to earn the dough to fund art projects. Our manifesto is to support creativity and critical thinking; to raise breadwinning artists, do(ugh)ing it for themselves.As a part of our Food for Though project we are running a series of food, art and wellness events which will take place at our art space DOUGH on 22 Sandgate, Ayr and our experimental bakery and kicthen BREAD on 3 Cathcart Street, Ayr.Food for Thought Synopsis Welcome to our arts space DOUGH and experimental kicthen and bakery BREAD where you are invited to give us your thoughts in exchange for tasty bites. It is a place where studio, gallery and café fuse into a community hive. We are asking the question: how do we nurture creativity to promote wellbeing?Our aspiration is to activate empty buildings and under-used spaces with regular arts and cultural events that give our creative graduates a reason to reinvent Ayr as a place of experiential retail and cultural tourism. That would see the Sandgate, Loudon Hall, South Harbour Side and the Promenade reinvigorated with interesting activities. As a part of our ‘Food for Thought’ project we would like to ask for your thoughts and suggestions as to how we can transform our town.There is no formal charge for food offerings, but donations are very welcome to support our ongoing mission to bring creative vibrancy back to our historically important town.
