The first thing mushroon growing requires is a culture or sample of the mushroom you want to grow. Cultures and samples are available commercially or you can grow your own. At the lab we have been expanding the cultures. We will start the class with the techniques used to expand a culture or tissue. Next we'll prepare the substrate used to grow the mushrooms. After that we'll prepare a substrate for inoculation and then inoculate some already prepared substrate with cultures grown in the lab.
