Museum on the Seam is a socio-political contemporary art museum located in Jerusalem, which was selected by the New York Times as "one of the 29 most impressive art institutions in the world". The Museum exhibits the finest art from Israel and abroad by leading contemporary artists while presenting art as a language with no boundaries in order to raise social issues for public discussion, while emphasizing what connects us rather than what keeps us apart. Past exhibitions at the Museum, which was described by the National Geographic as "a fascinating and unique museum", have dealt with themes of human rights, exploration of anxiety, animal rights, ecology and sustainability, and the contemporary phenomenon of loneliness, among others. Washington University's website stated: "This is one of the best museums in the world. The most intense active square meter to art ratio you will ever find." Located only five minutes' walk from the Old City and a minute walk from Mea Shearim, the Museum's rooftop holds one of Jerusalem's most magnificent views, a coffee shop (with free Wi-Fi), and is a home to various activities including gallery talks, lectures, performance art and many more.
