As the Chief Executive & Founder of A Polished Work Nail Spa Lounge, Monica Abernathy is a successful entrepreneur, building a six-figure business. She has created one of the top nail salons in Chicago. Passionate about community development, Monica has supported countless nail professionals to reach their potential as licensed nail professionals. Monica excels by creating custom marketing strategies to keep technicians’ schedules booked throughout the year. She has implemented procedures to duplicate her success for many nail technicians. Monica graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in 2002 from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In 2013, she completed her Nail Certification through Dudley Beauty College Chicago. Monica returned in 2021 to obtain her nail instructor certification from Dudley Beauty College Chicago. Monica has also completed Executive Education with the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Monica's expertise in mentorship and professional development led to the creation of EntrepreNAILeur. EntrepreNAILeur is a creative digital platform for nail professionals. Monica's goal is to help elevate others to succeed in the nail art industry by enhancing their business intellect. She hails from the west side of Chicago. When Monica isn't providing exceptional care for her clients or mentoring, you can find her drawing, gardening, and spending quality time with her two daughters.
