The Middlesbrough Art Weekender is returning for its fourth year! Middlesbrough Art Weekender is an annual contemporary arts festival held in the post-industrial town of Middlesbrough, located in the North-East of England. The weekend will be spread out across over forty locations, including The Auxiliary Project Space and the Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art (MIMA), local businesses and new gallery spaces such as Pineapple Black. The event is an attempt to highlight Middlesbrough as an important location for artist production and new practices, to consider the creative industry as a way of giving life back to a town that has suffered so greatly since the end of industrial production.The programme will include many artists from the North of England to share and promote their practices, along with large names from all across the country.The weekend is free and open to the public of all ages.
