Her poetry has featured in numerous publications, ‘Flowers from the Farm’ is her debut poetry collection, launched by Writing WA at The State Library on April 4. It has sold widely across the globe on Amazon, reaching number one in categories including love poetry and inner child.'Flowers from the Farm' explores empowerment and encourages others to write. It has been enjoyed by many people who are not traditionally into poetry. Melissa holds degrees in Literature and International education, teaching ATAR English & Literature, together with ESL students across the globe has made her poetry very accessible, whilst still incorporating traditional poetic techniques in a somewhat playful manner. She fervently believes that there should be more poetry in the world to help people share their own authentic voices and to distil life's challenges. Personally, she writes to breathe and finds it the most cathartic endeavour and enjoys leading workshops such as this to help others write their life through poetry. In this workshop, you will engage in a short meditative writing experience to cultivate calm. Melissa will also read some short poems around the theme of her new poetry collection Flowers from the Farm, namely 'let shadows fall behind you, make room to bloom' and encourage you and yours to express your own unique voices.
