Hello, my name is Katherine Medlyn. I have been involved in art my entire life (having been raised by two professional artists), and have developed a different approach to teaching that is very successful with my students. Key elements are involvement, friendly enthusiasm, and production of a finished piece students can be proud to take away with them. I believe this approach is one that could be very interesting for your project.My professional career medium is copper foil stained glass. I design and teach classes at my studio in St.Thomas, ON. I also enjoy is training students. I have experience teaching mosaic with glass & mixed media, the creation of steampunk jewellery using recycled costume jewellery, as well as paper bead making, fun worry dolls, and iron-on patches for hats and t-shirts at summer camps at our local YWCA.My credentials are with local schools--public and Montessori , as well as at Fanshawe College; St. Thomas Art Gallery; and Glendale Village Retirement Center.
