The McCombs School of Business launched the Social Innovation Initiative (SII) as a hub for the UT Austin community to explore social entrepreneurship, corporate social innovation, and impact/ESG investing in 2017. Under the direction of Dr. Meeta Kothare, the SII is developing curriculum and programming to broaden the school's support of these areas. Since our founding, the SII has introduced three new courses in Impact Investing, philanthropy, and social entrepreneurship, sponsored five speaker events for over 350 students, launched the Social Impact Consulting Program, supported and advised undergraduate and MBA competition teams, co-sponsored the SELL Fellowship Program for aspiring social entrepreneurs, published our first twelve newsletters under the name "The Innovator," and more. Regardless of what field our students work in, they must consider the social and environmental consequences of their work. Therefore, we are seeking partners to help us shape the future leaders of tomorrow through improved experiential learning programs, internships, and other strategic partnerships.
