MAQET?MAQETis a community-based artist collective in NYC that creates third speces for artists, Our collective is Founded on the belief that a strong and supportive artistic community uplifts all its members, We believe in the power of group edvocacy to create the change that we want to see in the art world and beyond.MAQUETTEin design and architecture, is a term that describes a model or preliminary sketch for a bigger dream.Our biggest dream is to empower artists through the active cultivation of community, placing control of artistic work back in the hands of creators.Artists do not have to pay or prove any commercial value to enter our spaces. Our collective is the Foundation From which artists present their works to develop an audience, We believe that all creative expression is valid and valuable in and of itself, and want to support artwork that shows creative vision, intention, and ambition.MAKE IT.We create together. Our group began as a student-driven initiative to give graduating seniors at Parsons an opportunity to present their thesis projects in a gallery space. We continue that mission by creating space and oppurtunities for artists who seek to push boundaries, and step beyond convention..
