Chef Biography Maël Raoult, a French-American citizen and native of Rochester, NY is a world-taught chef and musician based out of Los Angeles, CA. After completing his studies in language acquisition in 2010 at Pitzer College he collectively founded and managed an experimental homestead farming project in Western Massachusetts. His true passion for cooking manifested itself as a product of an agricultural lifestyle in tandem with the food he grew. Since the resolution of the project in 2013, Maël has moved around the world in pursuit of peripatetic contrast to the stationary practice of a farmer. He is fluent in multiple languages including English, French, Spanish, and has studied German, Norwegian, Quechua, and Arabic. He has lived in four American states, Ecuador, Morocco, and Peru and has personally catered events and performed in New York, Massachusetts, California, Norway, and France. Maël is proud of his French Heritage and has traveled to Normandy over the years to learn from his grandmother Marcelle in honor of her culinary traditions. He now incorporates that experience in conjunction with his identity as a farmer, musician, linguist, and freelance caterer into an integrative approach with the objective of sharing his crafts as one collective expression.
