About MA Music

Marcel Anderson is an Urban Soul Contemporary Gospel Artist, whose roots in gospel music began at an early age. A native of Spartanburg, South Carolina Marcel was raised among a powerhouse of musicians and singers, which is where he discovered one of the many passions God had placed in him, which was singing. His singing started to emerge after his mother, who knew he could sing, told the church choir director about his musical gift. Marcel, who was a shy kid when it came to singing in front of people, would be given his first song, “Give Us This Day” to sing at the first rehearsal he attended. Ever since he has been singing non-stop and encouraging and inspiring through his melodious vocals. Born with twin Marcus Anderson, and an older set of twins Alpheaus and Aaron Anderson, a group was formed called The Anderson Twins, which sang locally throughout all of Spartanburg and the surrounding areas. Later an R&B group was formed called Three Part Harmony, whose youthful presence and talent among their generation would prove that their musical talents would be lifelong. Three Part Harmony performed on many stages and competitions, winning awards to the tune of at least a dozen. It was during this time in his life that Marcel started writing music and continued to share his gift. After being called to ministry, it was evident that Marcel would encourage the world through Gospel Music, but with an irresistible R&B and Urban Soul contemporary grove. As he began his solo music career, Marcel’s popularity quickly grew. He always allows the spirit of God to be glorified through his music. His gift from God as a vocalist allows him to reach out to the new generation of young leaders and worshipers. With a practical, yet insightful and charismatic singing style, and a passion for Gods music, he is dedicated to spreading the good news of the Gospel to everyone he meets, especially young people.  It has been through the anointing and calls on his life that he’s been able to leave a long-lasting impression of worship on the lives he’s touched. He has shared the stage with local and national gospel greats such as Tye Tribbett, John P Kee, Leandria Johnson, Shawn Bigby, and Teen Pure N Heart, which has help to shape his future in Gospel Music. Marcel’s new project, “Still Living,” showcases some of the best producers in the Jazz and Gospel communities such as Nicholas Cole, Marcus Anderson and Alpheaus Anderson. The projects theme surrounds his personal testimony and how he was able to triumph and overcome. Giving believers new hope in Christ as his message proves that you can overcome and persevere through some the depths of life’s most challenging happenings. The project is scheduled to be release in March 2014.
