M5 is the UMass Amherst makerspace designed for and by the the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) community, including students, faculty, staff and alumni. It is fundamentally an opt-in space that thrives on the initiative of its members. Since opening in 2008, M5 has operated as a society of those who have taken the initiative to enhance their knowledge of the wonderful worlds of electronics, computing and related fields through projects and other activities.We also welcome the Five Colleges community and the public to join us during project showcases, open houses and special events.
