We encourage informed and active participation in voting. We work toward a greater public understanding of major governance issues. We influence policy through education and advocacy.LWVYC places no barriers to membership or program participation on the basis of individual identity or political party affiliation. We welcome the perspectives of all in our community and believe that, together, we create a better republic.For over 100 years, the League of Women Voters has challenged voter suppression and upheld representative democracy. The League does not support or oppose any political party or any candidate. It does, however, take action on selected, studied government issues in the public interest and supports access and belonging for all people in principles and practices.
