Follow LU Sherman Lewis School of Ag & Applied SciencesWe are a venerable School that espouses the tripartite Land-Grant mission of Academics, Research, and Extension. All three areas work collaboratively to provide support in response to the educational, social, and economic needs of people. By responding in such a cooperative manner, our School and University have been able to continue to build upon our original promise of commitment to the people of Oklahoma and to the broader society. The research program in the School of Agriculture and Applied Sciences is very active in searches and discoveries to improve the quality of life of people and the sustainability of communities. We are the home of the world-renown E. (Kika) de la Garza American Institute for Goat Research. The Institute houses state-of-the-art facilities for teaching, research, and student learning. It seeks to provide cutting-edge research and outreach activities that will enhance goat production systems, management capacity and improve the socio-economic conditions of producers, consumers, and communities around the world.
