Louisiana Gulf Coast Chapter

The American Bamboo Society is a comprised of a group of folks that grow and use bamboo. There are 8 different chapters in the USA and each year one of the chapters has been hosting the annual meeting and conference. In 2023, the Louisiana Gulf Coast Chapter is hosting the conference in Southern Louisiana. The 2023 conference will be an incredible opportunity to work with international bamboo consultant, Vinc Math who will be conducting a bamboo construction workshop where participants will acquire skills and knowledge to incorporate bamboo into their own building projects. One of the missions of the American Bamboo Society are to plant and maintain bamboo gardens to display the characteristic beauty of mature plants and to help to provide plant material for research in the taxonomy, propagation and culture of as large a number of species as possible and to support bamboo research in the field as well as to promote the uses of bamboo in arts, crafts and construction.
