Follow Limits and Proximities Foundation for the ArtsThe Limits and Proximities Foundation for the Arts was established on March 5, 2025, as a nonprofit organization, the primary mission of which is to preserve the legacy of the Bolivian/American visual artist, Fernando Casas, and make his artwork accessible to all. The Foundation is custodian of more than 200 works created by Casas between ca. 1956 to 2024, representing the single largest collection of his paintings, drawings, and etchings in the world. The Foundation has established a gallery, The Limits and Proximities Gallery, in the historic neighborhood of Georgetown in Washington DC to create a contemplative space in which to experience Casas’ works. While the gallery will not exhibit all of Casas’ works all the time, twice per year the ensemble of exhibited works will be changed, affording the public the opportunity to experience the entire collection over time. In addition to Casas’ work, the gallery also owns several pieces created by the American sculptor and painter, Stephen Adams, and the South American artist, Becky Soria. Both of these artists share a history of collaboration and friendship with Casas. A few works by Adams and Soria will always be exhibited in the gallery.
