Life for Africa, a nonprofit organization, has been dedicated to supporting the Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia by mobilizing funds from the diaspora for the past four years. Here's a summary of our major activities:1. Last year, we successfully procured medical equipment valued at half a million dollars for the Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia from Project CURE. Through our fundraising efforts, we raised over $40,000 to cover administrative and shipment fees associated with the project.2. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we raised over $120,000 in financial support and directed these funds directly to the Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia. This enabled approximately 100 underprivileged children to undergo life-saving heart surgeries. However, there remains a significant backlog of over 7,000 children awaiting surgery due to financial constraints and a shortage of medical equipment.3. In addition to our support for the Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia, our organization extends its assistance to Tesfa Addis, which focuses on childhood cancer. We provide essential materials for their well-being, including play toys, and organize lunch invitations during various holidays and occasions.4. Furthermore, we have facilitated the collection and shipment of containers of adult diapers from the US to the Mekedonia Elderly Center on two occasions.Our activities have garnered significant media coverage, including features on national TV, prominent shows like Seifu Fantahun on EBS, newspapers, magazines, and extensive presence on social media platforms. Our founder and CEO, Hiwot, boasts over 100K followers on TikTok, leveraging this platform for fundraising and promoting our initiatives.Currently, Life for Africa is eagerly preparing for a Dinner Gala slated for mid-July, expecting over 300 distinguished guests. This esteemed gathering will include officials from the Children's Heart Fund, prominent actors and actresses, artisans, notable media personalities, members of the business community, as well as social and nonprofit leaders. The primary objective of this event is to raise funds to bolster support for the Children's Heart Fund of Ethiopia, along with other organizations requiring assistance.We recognize that the success of this event hinges on substantial energy, time, and financial resources.
