The Leather Conservation Centre (LCC) was founded in 1978 with the aim of conserving material heritage made from leather, skin and animal membrane materials.The LCC takes a holistic approach to conservation; operating a specialist studio for treatment, undertaking research to advance knowledge and techniques used in the field of conservation, and providing a range of educational activities.The LCC is at the centre of a broad network of heritage and industry specialists and traditional practitioners, and proactively works to retain and record important historic technologies and craft skills at risk of extinction.
