What is Kiwanis? Simply put, Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. The Kiwanis Club of Columbia was chartered on March 15, 1920 with 58 charter members. Our club sponsors numerous area Key Clubs and the Circle K Club at the University of South Carolina. The Kiwanis Club of Columbia supports a number of charitable activities in the greater Columbia area with financial contributions, member time, or a combination of these. Among other projects, we support Jubilee Academy, rehabilitate homes for needy families with HomeWorks, mentor the kids at Palmetto Place Children's Shelter and ring the bells around the Salvation Army kettle during the holidays.
