About Kansas City-Seville Committee, SCAKC

The Sister Cities program has been a part of Kansas City’s international outreach since 1967, with the establishment, this same year, of the first Kansas City Sister City, Seville. Sister Cities Association became a 501(c)(3) membership organization in 1981. It is an Association that supports and promotes cooperation and understanding for innovative programs in commerce, tourism, education and cultural awareness.    Kansas Citians, through the Sister Cities program, have helped to build strong relationships between cities around the world in citizen exchanges, economic and educational programs, and cultural activities. The KCMO International Office coordinated the Mayor's Sister Cities Commission to support this important work.   Mission & Objectives of the Seville Committee   Promote Spanish culture and Spanish language in the Kansas City area through our committee programs, community programs, and international cooperation Promote multicultural awareness and understanding Strengthen our relationships with our Sister City through specific projects  Create a point of reference to the Spanish Community in KC and to those who are interested in the Spanish culture
