Jay Santos was born in Bogotá, Colombia. At the age of ten, he moved with his father toRome, Italy, where he attended Ludovico Pavoni Middle School. During this period, hediscovered his passion for music, learning to play the guitar and piano, while being deeplyinspired by Italian music of the 1990s, which would later shape his artistic sensitivity.At eighteen, he moved to Madrid, Spain, where he reconnected with his Latin roots and therhythms that had always accompanied him: salsa, vallenato, merengue, bachata, cumbia,and reggaeton.In 2012, he released his first single alongside Henry Méndez and José de Rico, titled “Nochede Estrellas”. The song became a massive success, turning into the most viewed video inSpain that year and remaining to this day an anthem of Latin urban music in Europe.In 2013, Jay Santos launched his solo career with his biggest international hit, “Caliente”.The track crossed borders, earning two platinum and two gold certifications in Italy andFrance. With this release, he performed across Spain, Chile, Italy, Albania, Switzerland, andFrance, establishing himself as a Latin reference artist in non-Spanish-speaking countries.In 2015, he made history by becoming the first Latin artist to hold a residency at thelegendary Privilege Ibiza. That same year, his label Envimusic signed a distribution deal withSony Music Spain, through which he released the global hit “Dale Morena”, now aworldwide anthem for the Zumba community.In 2016, under Sony Music Spain, he released the single “Baila” featuring Dominican artistFuego, accompanied by a music video filmed in Marbella, Spain. Jay Santos has alsoperformed in 2019 at iconic venues such as Ushuaïa Ibiza (opening for Daddy Yankee) andHï Ibiza (as opening act for Tyga).His music continues to make audiences dance worldwide. In 2025, he introduced his newartistic vision with the world tour “T”, a futuristic show blending Afro, Tech House, Dembow,and Reggaeton, featuring spectacular stage design and cutting-edge lighting and visualeffects.
