The purpose of Iguana Music is to strengthen communities by bringing people together through great music. We coordinate fully inclusive events in the New Jersey area and feature a wide variety of musicians, music and instrumentation. Most Iguana Music events have an additional fundraising emphasis for partnering non-profit charitable organizations, but all events serve to bring community members together in an open and inclusive way. Musicians and sound engineers frequently offer their time, talent and equipment free of charge at fundraising events created by Iguana Music. We also support and partner on other events that align with Iguana's vision and purpose. Because the money we raise is collected by and given directly to 501 (c)(3) non-profit organizations, we neither need nor desire formal status as a charitable organization. We simply imagine great community events and make them a reality through vision, coordination and artistry. We have removed money from the equation in order to focus simply on bringing people together to promote community building and peace. We strive to coordinate events that reflect the full diversity of the communities in which they are held, including diversity of music, race, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, age, gender, religion and political affiliation. We believe that the interest of peace affects all and so must involve, include and benefit all.
