Join us at Hinterlands, a transformative project by the Canal & River Trust, where art and environment meet for meaningful community engagement along the River Lea in Upper Edmonton. Our artist residency is based in a creatively adapted shipping container at BLOQS, where we facilitate a series of community-led events and workshops. These activities are designed to explore the river’s past, its current significance as an environmental asset, and its future in the face of urban development and ecological challenges. Through artistic inquiry and collective action, we aim to deepen local connections, enhance cultural understanding, and foster a spirit of active citizenship. Our events are designed to be inclusive, informative, and inspiring, providing a platform for voices of all ages, with a particular focus on enabling children to express their visions for their community’s future. Supported by local initiatives and strategic partnerships, Hinterlands is a hub for creative exploration and community empowerment amidst one of London's most dynamically changing landscapes.
