Hernan Guardamagna is a London-based footwear brand founded by fashion and footwear designer and maker Hernan Guardamagna. The brand focuses on modern shoes defined by bold silhouettes, geometric shapes, and elements of sportswear and futurism.The way the brand approaches footwear is influenced by Hernan's background in fashion, which is why he uses some of the resources he used in the past to make garments (such as pleats, gatherings, and ruffles) to design shoes. Regarding the making, he takes advantage of the possibilities hand-making processes have to offer compared to how a shoe would be manufactured in the industry. Most of my work is done by hand with the help of a few machines.Recycling and upcycling are two strong pillars of Hernan Guardamagna’s work, thus many of the materials he uses are sourced from deadstock or discarded from the fashion industry.
