About Heather Gweneth Bird

Heather has been practising yoga for 11 years in Seattle, USA and back in the UK and has led sessions on both sides of the Atlantic completing yoga teacher trainer with the Classical Yoga School.   Heather started yoga to improve core strength, benefit her squash game, help with aches and pains from running/desk job and to de-stress while working in the fast-paced pharma industry... and it's did much more than just all that, she is now a daily yoga addict – she calls it her medicine.  Heather practices Ashtanga yoga and Vinyasa flow and will bring those influences to the retreat for improved flexibility, increased strength, tone and mental/emotional wellbeing.     Heather has a first-class degree in Physiology from the University of Edinburgh and worked in the clinical research world for over a decade, helping to bring novel to market, as the years went by, she knew we were missing something with our Western approach to medicine.   Further studies in Yoga, Meditation, nutrition and the mind-body connection reinforced that message.   In 2017, Heather trained with top-UK life-coach in the Harmonizing Life Alignment process, demonstrated to increase confidence and tackle issues such as burn-out, stress management, anxious and depressive mood and fulfilling life goals.  Heather now combines yoga with coaching processes to bring further balance, zest and joy into the lives of clients, running classes, private sessions, day long and extended retreats throughout Scotland.
