Healthy Start, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA is a Black woman-led public health organization focused on improving maternal and child health by reducing infant mortality and poor birth outcomes in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, and surrounding areas. Healthy Start, Inc Pittsburgh proudly celebrates our 30th year of community-based and community-led services aimed at reducing disparities and improving maternal and child health with a focus on Black moms and families. Working across areas of direct-service, policy, and advocacy, Healthy Start’s multidisciplinary team of home-visitors, doulas, lactation counselors and consultants, mental health therapists, and community advocates work to deliver an array of programming to support families across the perinatal spectrum and to influence local and state policy.
