About Guardians of our Children Charitable Trust

WHAT: The flagship programme is The Make Them Proud-Parental Disputes Workshop WHO: The Guardians are a group of passionate, child-focused community members with relevant experiences and/or expertise in the family disputes arena. They provide a unique perspective on the term "the welfare and best interest of the children" and what it truly means to "win" in the disputes process. The Guardians offer these workshops for free to anyone going through parental disputes and their support people. Those who are just curious as to why these workshops are so refreshingly different are also welcome to attend. SOME TOPICS COVERED: Family court; parenting and protection orders; family violence; parenting styles and adjusting to the circumstances; parental alienation/alliance; effective communication; short and long term goals; officers of the court; mediation; counselling and social workers; and the importance of allowing yourself to heal. Plus many more. TIME: Funding dependent but generally done on a Saturday from 10am - 3pm. COST: The community education programmes are free. WHAT TO BRING: Pen and notepad. An open mind and a warm heart. WHAT TO EXPECT: The morning session is a presentation with Q&A throughout. Handouts provided as well as food and refreshments. After lunch will be a role play session determined by the attendees. Participation is encouraged but voluntary. CONFIDENTIALITY: All stories shared and identification of attendees are kept confidential. No recording or photography except for non-identifying shots by the Guardians for promotional use.
