About Grow! Lincoln Park Community Garden/Lincoln Park Conservancy

The primary program of the Lincoln Park Conservancy is grow! Lincoln Park Community Garden, a sustainable, organic garden commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Taylor Desegregation Case of 1961. The garden is located on the site of the former Lincoln Elementary School, now Lincoln Park, which was torn down after a judge's ruling in the first desegregation case filed in a northern city. Families, individuals and community organizations are invited to rent a 50 sq. ft. or a 100 sq. ft raised-bed plot to plant organic vegetables, herbs or flowers. The first planting season started in April 2012.
