Follow Galveston County 4-HAs the youth development program of the Cooperative Extension System of land-grant universities, 4-H is the nation’s largest youth development organization, empowering six million young people throughout the United States, and it is the largest youth development program in Texas with more than 550,000 youth each year. As the 4-H motto states, the 4-H program challenges kids to use their heads for clearer thinking, their hearts for greater loyalty, their hands for larger service and their health for better living in support of their community. 4-H serves to build life skills such as responsibility, teamwork, leadership and community mindedness through various projects they choose to participate in. Through 4-H, young people explore future career paths and have the opportunity for scholarships to pursue further education.
