Furedown’s first literary festival will take place on May 10 th 2025 at Mitcham Lane Baptist Church. The festival is the brainchild of a group of local residents with a passion for literature to celebrate the wealth of talent from this corner of south London. Diversity and inclusivity lie at the heart of this inaugural event. Writers hail from a wide range of backgrounds and cover topics ranging from politics and spying to neurodiversity and children’s books. Furzedown Litfest is funded by the Furzedown Community Network and part of Wandsworth Borough of Culture 2025.The events have been made possible by the kind support of the FCN, Mitcham Lane Baptist church, and many volunteers from the community.
