State Representative Dontavius Jarrellsis serving his third term in the Ohio General Assembly, representing House District 1, which includes the City of Bexley and portions of Columbus.Growing up in Cleveland's Hough neighborhood, Dontavius witnessed the struggles disadvantaged communities face daily, such as lack of affordable housing and limited access to education and essential services. Jarrells remains committed to advancing commonsense legislation that improves lives across the state. During his time in office, he has passed laws to eliminate discriminatory covenants, remove derogatory language from the state code, and secure $150 million for lead prevention programs. He also championed landmark legislation, including the Paystub Protection Act to guarantee workers access to their pay statements, the designation of January 11th as Human Trafficking Awareness Day, and delivered millions in funding for his district and Franklin County.Rep.
