Food for Greater Elgin is a guest-choice food pantry providing food assistance to those in need. Our guests have access to nutritious options including meat, dairy, produce and shelf-stable items and can shop during one of our five weekly distribution times. Our guest-choice approach offers guests ownership, dignity and the opportunity to choose foods that match their ethnic, dietary or family needs. Each week, we feed more than 3,000 individuals, a third of whom are children. Food for Greater Elgin is one of the three largest pantries in Northern Illinois Food Bank's 13-county service area, and the largest in Kane County. Any of the events listed here are either fundraisers for the pantry or appreciation events for our volunteers and supporters.
