Follow Feather River Floating ClassroomThe Feather River Floating Classroom program was developed by the California Department of Water Resources to provide information about water operations, the salmon life cycle, conservation of native species, and ongoing research and restoration efforts. Fisheries scientists guide each tour and provide opportunities for in-depth discussions.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ HATCHERY TOURS ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Fish Hatchery Tours are booked separately and all participants are encouraged to explore the Feather River Fish Hatchery when you can.• Guided tours are available on a first-come, first-serve basis every Monday - Friday, beginning in mid-September through early November(please call 530-534-2306).• Self-guided walking tours are available 7 days a week(pick up brochures with a map at the Feather River Fish Hatchery, 5 Table Mountain Blvd. in Oroville, or at theLake Oroville Visitor Center).~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~In combination, both tours will provide a deeper understanding of the complex life cycle of Central Valley Chinook Salmon, management challenges facing threatened spring-run Chinook Salmon and steelhead, and ongoing and future research and restoration efforts to the Feather River watershed for native species.
